Autumn is slowly approaching again and with it comes the time of the design and art fairs. The photo basel (from 21 to 26 September) and Art Basel (from 20 to 23 September for invited guests only and from 24 to 26 September for the general public) have just opened. And already BLICKFANG announces its fairs in Basel from 1 to 3 October and in Zurich from 19 to 21 November in the newly opened Kongresshaus.

Art Basel 2021

Art connoisseurs probably don’t need much introduction to Art Basel. Founded in 1970 by the Basel art gallery owners Ernst Beyeler, Trudi Bruckner and Balz Hilt, the fair proved to be a success right from the start: 90 galleries and 30 publishers from 10 countries exhibited at the inaugural fair and attracted over 15,000 visitors.

photo basel

photo basel, Switzerland’s first and only photo art fair, returns to the Volkshaus Basel for its sixth edition. The fair will take place from 21 to 26 September 2021, at the same time as the renowned art fair Art Basel. It sees itself as an integrative and hybrid platform that connects all the players in the art world (online and in real life).

In recent decades, photography has been able to establish itself more and more in international museums and forms a central foundation in recent art history. As a fair, photo basel wants to contribute actively to this dialogue and bring together art photography with all its different interest groups.

This year, photo basel offers hospitality to 40 international exhibitors from 16 nations, including the newly added galleries Robert Morat (Berlin), Migrant Bird Space (Berlin), Gowen Contemporary (Geneva), Galerie 193 (Paris), Artco (Berlin, Aachen & Cape Town), AKKA (Venice & Dubai), ISSP (Riga), Gallery Bart (Amsterdam), Thierry Marlat (Paris).
