This year, Switzerland’s largest festival for digital culture once again boasts a diverse programme: around 80 national and international artists and artist groups will be exhibiting and performing. In addition to exhibitions, installations, immersive and VR experiences, performances, concerts and DJ/VJ events, there will be workshops, the DA Z LAB, the DA Z VIDEO AWARD and the DA Z CONVERSATIONS with top speakers. DA Z 2021 will take place at various locations in Zurich’s city centre: on Schiffbauplatz, in the Museum für Gestaltung, in the Walcheturm art space, in Labor5, in the Wasserkirche, at SIXConventionPoint, in the Swiss Finance Museum, in the Löwenbräu Silo and in Moods. Digital lounges can be found at LaSalle, Razzia, Impact Hub Zurich – Kraftwerk, Impact Hub Zurich – Café Auer & Co. Other locations are in the pipeline, they say.

The participating artists are among the best in their genre worldwide. In their works, which they have conceived or further developed especially for the DA Z, they critically examine social developments. This year, the focus is on “departure” after the crisis. This allows a positive forward-looking view, while at the same time addressing the “ruptures”.

The aim of DA Z is to combine the highest artistic quality with discourse on global social developments and the influence of digitalisation on our lives. DA Z is an initiative of the Digital Arts and Sciences Switzerland Association – DA/S.
