Zurich Event “Rund um Keramik”.

16.09.2025

The exhibition “Rund um Keramik” is taking place in Zurich city centre until 21 September. This ten-day event celebrates the diversity of Zurich’s cultural landscape. The festival brings Zurich’s Niederdorf district to life and invites visitors to discover ceramics in all its different forms with workshops, exhibitions, tours and much more.

What makes “Rund um Keramik” special is the fact that the objects are not only displayed in galleries and museums, but also in everyday spaces such as the Ceramics Café, numerous shops and stores, and the Zurich Ceramics Market.

The “Keramik Café” is the hub of the event. For ten days, the Kronen Gallery at Froschaugasse 3 will be transformed into a café and visitor centre. There you can find out more about the event and drink coffee or tea from a cup of your choice made by selected ceramicists. You can also purchase the cup to take home with you.

Also at the Kronen-Galerie at Froschaugasse 3, the swissceramics association will present the winners of the annual recognition award for the best final projects in the ceramics design classes. The works, judged by a commission of experts, will be presented as part of the “Platform” exhibition.

The “Arche2.0” exhibition at the Wasserkirche interprets ceramics as an artistic archive of the future. The exhibition at the Wasserkirche presents seven ceramic positions on the theme of the future and preservation. The central question is what a contemporary ark should contain.

The Wasserkirche also houses a wooden ship’s hull in which visitors can mould their own objects from clay and give them to the Ark 2.0 to take with it on its journey. This creates a participatory setting in which visitors themselves become part of the exhibition.

The shop exhibitions as part of “Rund um Keramik” are fully integrated into everyday city life. Here, selected ceramicists from the “swissceramics” association present their work in collaboration with selected shops – from local bicycle dealers to wool shops. They are displaying handmade ceramics in around 16 shops in Zurich’s Niederdorf district.
