“Flowers to Arts” at the Aargauer Kunsthaus has been a great success year after year – the exhibition has attracted up to 18,000 visitors in just six days in each of the last nine years. The floral interpretations by florists and flower designers of works of art from the museum’s rich collection never cease to fascinate; in 2023 for the ninth time.

This year, the popular event again marks the start of spring. From 7 to 12 March, 14 historical and contemporary works of art form the basis for floral interpretations by Swiss master florists and floral designers and two international guests from Graz engage in a creative dialogue. Flowers for Art spans an arc between the two disciplines and provides for surprising perspectives in the viewing of art: a concept that opens up entirely new ways of seeing. Look forward to a sensual and emotional art experience!

The exhibition format Flowers for Art first took place in 2014 as an experiment. Since then, it has developed into an important platform for dialogue between floristry and art. In 2019, Flowers for Art attracted over 18,000 visitors. In 2020, the exhibition was held in a reduced form due to the pandemic, the 2021 edition was postponed by one year and offered in the summer of 2022. This year, it will again be held in spring, as scheduled.

Flowers for Art is a joint project of the FLOWERS TO ARTS association and the Aargauer Kunsthaus.
